Searching for a new pet? There’s one thing you may not have considered...
Getting the Right Fit
Dogs come in all shapes and sizes. Through breeding, evolution, and just the plain variety of species, our canine friends can be found tall, short, fat, thin, round, and long. Similarly, dogs have a range of temperaments and personalities, from their breed and upbringing.
While this diversity makes for a wide range of options for pets and companions, it can also present some challenges. When choosing a dog, the responsible thing to do is to pick a breed or animal that matches your ability to care for it. While it can be easy to determine how much time you have to commit to your future pet, or whether your house is big enough for the dog you had in mind, there’s one thing that can catch dog owners off guard.
One Size Doesn’t Fit All
Getting your dog groomed (whether that means deshedding, nail clipping, or just a nice bath) makes them feel good, look nice, and improve their health. However, be sure to check out your local grooming options, and whether your nearby network of groomers can support your dog breed.
Many groomers refuse to service certain types of dogs. Some will not work with larger breeds, because they lack the ability to house these animals, or the confidence to deal with strong, muscular dogs. Similarly, there are grooming businesses out there that lack the appropriate tools or equipment to properly service breeds with exotic hair or fur types.
In other cases, groomers will refuse service to dogs based on breed. For example, because of an undeserved bad reputation, many groomers will not work with pit bulls, and decline clients for no other reason.
Any Dog, Any Size
These denials of service are more than just annoyances - they are an indication that your groomer may be unskilled or unprofessional. In either case, you should consider finding a new place to take your furry companion.
At Dogfather Mobile Grooming, we service any and all dogs. Any breed. Any size. Any dog.
That’s our commitment to providing the best care for your dogs, no matter what kind they are.
